This is a 6 foot Para sculpted in clay by artist Amy Goodman and then cast in bronze by the folks at Talos Art Foundry and set atop a 3 ton block of granite hewn from Mount Longdon in the Falkland Islands. It was modelled on a real life Para, Sergeant Jim Kilbride. He became involved when the Airborne Forces Association visited him to make sure the kit the statue is shown in is accurate to the 1980s.
