Hanged or Hung?

You seem like you might know this…when do you use “hung”, and when do you use “hanged”? I know it’s pretty specific, but I can never remember. >_>
You called it. "Hanged" when by the neck. "Hung" if in a basket. So Calico Jack was hanged by the governor of Jamaica who then hung his tarred, decomposing body in a basket. Wait, I think this has become a post for "The Ossuary."
