Why Am I the One? || the-ninth-of-many (AU)
Each time she used the dimension canon, she felt sick for a moment afterwards. Time and space travel with no vessel but her own body was difficult and her head was pounding when she once more entered the Prime Universe in a flash of light. She leaned against the nearest brick wall and gathered herself only to look up and see the Powell Estate in her view. Memories came flooding back to her but along with them, disappointment. If she knew the Doctor, and she did, he wouldn't have lingered anywhere near there after losing her.
With hours to go before the canon could be used again, she folded her arms over her chest and made her way towards the estate. It was foolish and nostalgic but worst of all, counterproductive. Perhaps she was sick of each and every trip ending in failure. She needed to find him and quickly but her plans always seemed to go pear shaped just when she'd needed them to work. Attempts to contact him through screens and hints, nothing succeeded.
Rose's gaze had dropped down to the concrete ground and she didn't notice what was in front of her until she bloody ran into it.
She winced, rubbing her forehead and cursing under her breath before looking up. She wasn't sure if it was her heart or her lungs that stopped first but one of them needed a kick start again so she let out a shaken breath.
It was the TARDIS, truly the TARDIS.
She let out a triumphant laugh. She'd gotten it right, finally! What she hadn't realized however was the mishap on the date, far too soon for it to be pinstripes and punk hair. She knocked on the doors of the blue box hopefully.
