The proofs have arrived today for my novella “The Nightman”. I wrote this story last year and did not expect to publish it. It is nevertheless finally happening. Holding the proofs in my hand I realised that all those people who used to say that writing wasn’t worth wasting my time on were wrong. In fact, if there is something “worth wasting your time on” it’s creating. Beauty and truth, a flicker of your dreams only can come into form and shape when you create something out of nothing. And one step beyond that- a necessary step- is to share it with the world and with your favourite people. No matter how small your contribution may be, it’s yours. And it’s all of ours. . .
