SNIPPET SUNDAY WEDNESDAY + WIP WEDNESDAY
Thank you so much to @anjelicawrites for tagging me in the Snippet Sunday and to @lord-aldhelm and @oddsnendsfanfics for tagging me in the WIP Wednesday. You don't know how much I missed doing these tag games! 💜
Since I've been writing two things for the Halloween week, I'll post both of them (you can find the summary of said fics here).
It will be a bit long post, so snippets under the cut!
For the Snippet Sunday Wednesday, I'll post some lines of the Cregan fic I'm currently writing and finish, a Cregan x Old God!Reader heavily inspired by the Banshee figure:
The first time Cregan Stark heard a whisper of death, he was at the age of ten and one. At first it started slowly, a subtle hum like a gentle breeze on a cold winter day. A song that was unfamiliar for the young firstborn of Lord Rickon Stark, his immature mind was busy in challenging his younger brother to battle, the clashes of their wooden swords echoing in the vast and cold corridors of Winterfell. Then, that hum turned into a tormented chant, a shrill, desperate song that made people's eyes glossy with tears and made the hardest heart melting in the chest, caging it into a cold, dread vice, one of those that takes your breath away. And neither the strong walls of Winterfell could shield its inhabitants inside, for death trespassing them and spread his icy presence inside, claiming Rickon's youngest son silently and with no fuss. At his age, Cregan could not grasp such an abstract concept as death, as well as those whispers that sounded like omens of death, warning him he would claim his brother's life in the same way life created his.
For the WIP Wednesday, instead, I'll share the Vampire!Bucky x Werewolf!Reader I'll write soon after the Cregan one. This is an extract from an old fic I was writing for another character almost a year ago, changing few things to fit in the story:
The masquerade took place in a majestic and elegant ballroom, which displayed all the opulence of its architecture. It was vast, bathed in golden ornamentation that ran through the ornate ceiling, decorated with frescoes and architectural decorations by the most skilled artistic hands in the world. A large crystal chandelier cast a golden light that filled the room, warm rays that created a shimmering ambience. The walls were covered with fine and textured wallpapers, and the imposing architectural windows were decorated with burgundy curtains, allowing guests to glimpse the carefully maintained grounds of the mansion with its large scenic fountain. At the end there was a platform on which a small orchestra of pianos, cellos, violins, arps and flutes played. The well-dressed musicians provided the evening's music, which mingled with the chatter and laughter of the guests, all of whom belonged to the aristocracy and bourgeoisie. It was the place where the most important people met, showing off their rich clothes and flaunting their wealth, while outside these walls the poor and working class were starving. The men were dressed in tailored suits, with colourful handkerchiefs in their pockets and well polished shoes; the women, many of them of marriageable age or debutantes in society, wore dresses of the finest silk and lace, their bodies adorned with the most glittering and ostentatious jewels, their hair tied in the most elaborate hairstyles. A host of servants moved cautiously through the crowd, serving them glasses of champagne, canapés with caviar and whatever other food the house had to offer. In the midst of all those people, Bucky Barnes was there.
