I owned one of these executive pocket rockets back in the early â90s.  And seeing this one, reminded me of a time when I was traveling from Birmingham through Dalton on I-20. My partner and I were headed to Pawleyâs Island for the 4th. Traffic was not particularly heavy, so I had the cruise set about 5 mph over the speed limit. As we neared the Dalton area though, traffic began to batch, cars would speed by, pull back over in my lane, then slow down essentially rendering the cruise feature useless.  After a few miles of this nonsense, and being on a rural stretch of interstate... I decided to stretch the carâs âlegsâ and leave those folks behind. As I cleared the pack,  the radar detector suddenly goes nuts.  I stood on the brakes..  realizing my speed was in the extra legal, go-to-jail kind of range.  Glancing over to the medium, I could see this little Mustang, all lit up, frantically trying to clear the medium to get onto the interstate. I continued forward for probably a mile, cautiously checking the rear-view.  The trooper got caught up in traffic and was out of sight. I made a decision to pull over and wait... just in case he had a buddy a head. After a bit, he pulls in behind me, comes up to the open window, thanks me for stopping, then looks in at the radar detector sitting on the dash and exclaims: âI  was wondering how you got your speed down so quickly.  I donât know how fast you were going, but you were down to (83) when I got it locked in.â My mate sitting in the passenger seat beside me just rolls in the floor laughing ...Â

Boundary Street Banh Mi
If you are looking for something awesome to do on a Saturday night PLUS have the urge for some amazing food I highly recommend the Boundary Street Markets at the Motor Room in West End. Unsure what I wanted to do with my Saturday night, I decided to convince my friends to venture out to West End to see what was happening (and secretly hoping Iâd find a Banh Mi vender). After visiting a few different places we ended up at the Boundary Street Markets held at the Motor Room. Best decision ever. I was in foodie heaven! There were so many different types of food to choose from plus lots of beer and some live music too. It was still pretty early in the evening so it wasnât too busy either. I left my friends to wonder around the food stalls in the hope that banh mi would present itself. And lo and behold there it was, like a glowing beacon calling my name. The venue sold sandwiches from around the world and luckily for me they included what is arguably the best sandwich ever, the banh mi. There were no options of types of fillings so I had the traditional pork banh mi. The fillings were really different from what I normally experience but delicious all the same. The pork was minced and they put pork pate on it as well. There was quite a strong lemongrass flavour which I enjoyed immensley but probably not a good choice if you are looking for the traditional banh mi. Personally I loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Boundary street markets.Â
Location: The Motor Room Boundary Street Markets, West End
Type of Banh Mi Consumed: Lemongrass pork
Overall rating: 6/10 (because as delicious as it was, it wasnât really a traditional banh mi)
Banh mi at the motor room boundary street markets. Definitely a delicious way to spend a Saturday evening.
