Put a â in my askbox and my muse will react to the news that your muse has passed away in the night
There hadnât been a day that passed where Aomine didnât spend his time with Imayoshi, ever since he got admitted into hospital. Imayoshi had been diagnosed half a year ago and since then everything had been getting worse for him.Â
But no matter what happened, Aomine would not leave his side. That was something he promised Imayoshi. He would never leave - but for that Imayoshi had to promise not to leave Aomine either. He had to promise not to lose against death.Â
And it worked so far. Although, the former captain was feeling worse and worse each day and both of them were put to an acid test - also in their relationship to each other - they managed to get through those hard times.Â
But it really had been hard times for both of them. It was a time where Aomine could barely look at the other male, without feeling deep sorrow.Because as Imayoshiâs health condition got worse, his will to fight on died, together with that lively spark in his eyes.Â
Aomine had the need to help the other fighting, to not give up on his life. He desperately tried to make Imayoshi believe that he was going to be fine, though somedays Aomine doubted it himself - but he never showed that.
It was Aomineâs goal to bring back that spark into his boyfriends eyes. And there was no giving up in his vocabulary. Never would be.
It was the fifth night in a row that Aomine Daiki spend his night in the hospital, with his loved one;  Imayoshi Shoichi. The staff had told him to go home. To get some rest. To get some proper sleep. But he couldnât. What if Imayoshi needed him and he wasnât there? After all, Daiki promised him not to leave.
It had been a long night and Aomine and Imayoshi had almost spent it talking about everything. Well, mostly Aomine was the one speaking, trying to calm his boyfriend down, trying to distract him from all the pain.Â
Holding Imayoshiâs hand tightly, he fell asleep on the chair next to the otherâs bed long after Tououâs captain had fallen asleep himself.
Aomine awoke early in the morning. Maybe 5 A.M. The chilly autumn air from outside had made itâs way inside; visible on the fogged-up windows.Actually, the whole room felt a little chilly. Yawning, he gently squeezed Imayoshiâs hand - he blinked and immediately sat up straight. Something felt weird. It felt strangely cold andâŚstiff."Ima- Imayoshi?" He asked, staring at his boyfriend. He looked pale, way too pale. His lips violet-blue.Â
Aomineâs eyes widened. âShoichi!â He yelped, shaking him on his shoulder. No reaction. "Shoichi damn it! Say something!" He felt tears stinging in his eyes and a cry for help left his throat. "Please, please wake up! Imayoshi! I demand you to wake up!" Tears started streaming down his face as he more and more realized that there was no life left in Imayoshi Soichiâs body. âPlease wake up! Imayoshi!â He cried, as he pulled the lifeless body into his arms, clinging to it. âPleaseâŚplease wake up.â He sobbed, nestling his face into the otherâs hair. âYouâŚyou promised not to leave, you bakaâŚâ His body started shaking, in grief and deep sorrow.Â
They promised not to leave each other. They promised not to give up. Aomine promised Imayoshi that he would win this fight. But death was unbeatable.
The only one who can beat Death is Death and even that is not true. Death can not be beaten. Death; the final opponent everyone would have to face and everyone would lose to.The final opponent Imayoshi Shoichi had faced way too early.
