hmmm.... kriti likes to keep herself pretty busy, so i think sheād probably go for a jog, do some reading, maybe treat herself to a crappy horror movie netflix binge on netflix... and then if weāre talking about pre anchor-point sheād spend some time with her parents, if itās during anchor-point sheād probably just hang out with salim for a bit! sheās the type to really enjoy sharing space with a loved one while they both did their own thing, even if theyāre not like... directly interacting the whole time.Ā

hey! I read Where Dreams Descend at your recommendation, and it was cool! The competition aspects felt a bit dry and boring to me since Kallia always seemed to do sweepingly better than everyone else without even trying, but overall I thought it was a fun read!! I'm a little frustrated by the fact that the book was all questions and no answers, but hey, I guess that's why book two exists? Thanks for the recommendation :D
hello!! thank you so much for coming to talk to me about it! iām so glad you read it. i wasnāt very curious about the competition either and admittedly it took me a while to get invested, but was very hooked by all the mysteries (and also incredibly frustrated). when i finished the book i put it down and i just screamed because i hate ! cliffhangers ! but iām so excited to see how it wraps up. i first found out about where dreams descend through instagram, i think? and had seen a comparison of it with moulin rouge, the night circus, and the phantom of the opera (all of which i love) and was written by a filipino-american author, so i was SO hyped for it, and to know that the next book is moulin rouge meets the phantom of the opera meets hadestown? iām really curious about what will happen in book two, but the fact that itās compared to hadestown has me absolutely terrified for kallia!Ā

Ooo i don't know if you're still doing this but my three favorite books are if we were villains, the night circus, and the lies of locke lamora! Also, i read the watchmaker of filigree street recently and thought it was really interesting :D

with the night circus, iām obviously going to recommend the starless sea by erin morgenstern! another book that iād recommend is where dreams descend by janella angeles, which is sort of like the night circus meets the phantom of the opera. i know people have recommended the paper magician seriesĀ by charlie holmberg for fans of the night circus, and i did enjoy those, and charlie holmberg has a new book coming out soon (which i have an arc for and should read soon) called spellbreaker. iāve also people say thatĀ the invisible life of addie larue by v.e. schwabĀ is like the night circus meets the time travelerās wife meets the age of adaline, so thereās that as well, but i havenāt read that one yet!Ā
and with if we were villains, i would recommend these violent delightsĀ by chloe gong -- i havenāt read this one yet either, but iāve heard really, really good things about it! itās one of my most anticipated books of this year. i would also slide @thequeenosnes your way, because sheās my shakespeare expert and is one of the biggest iwwv fans i know, so sheāll probably be better at giving out book recs for iwwv-like books!
