Taking screenshots on 3DS is now possible thanks to Smealum’s ____Hax 2.5 update!

Although I had a little bit of trouble figuring out how to get the 2.5 payload to work on my old3DS running 10.0.0-27U, it was all worth it once I figured it out. So I took this screenshot (no capture card!) of my hacked shiny Lopunny that I plan on giving away for Wonder Trade Wednesday tomorrow some time on my Twitch stream.

I’m not 100% certain, but so far it looks like browserhax was patched. Possibly, even if you don’t update, it might not work. (Which is actually what I expected, seeing as this is what happend with tubehax.)

I believe themehax was patched, but you have to update to be affected by the patch. And apparently you can install it still, if you haven’t updated? (unconfirmed) Basically. Do not update if you want to use the Homebrew hacks.

Pre-warning for hackers:

I have a feeling tomorrow browserhax and themehax may go down with the update coming. So it might be a good idea to make sure you are happy with your town and recovered any currently lost towns, before the server maintainence at 10PM BST, 5PM EST, 2PM PST. And of course, if you intend to keep editting your towns don’t update your system without first making sure it’s safe for you to do so.
