The Universe of Badass Television (BATV)
So since there are two other shows, there might as well be a television network. Badass Television (BATV) includes shows that are not only having high quality but also shares the same universe equivalent to Marvel. Each show has a protagonist who has connections with the main character from BAMFs. When I met these two particular people, after interacting with them and seeing how awesome they are and how they are a huge part of my best friend’s life, I decided to make them a protagonist in their own series. That way, each time they make an appearance as a guest star in an episode it will also be a crossover episode. You might think the purpose of crossover episodes is a big cash grab to get the audience’s attention just to witness the interactions between your favorite characters and after the end of those episodes it came off as mediocre. Except these crossovers are well written, amazingly executed, and overwhelmingly fun. So, I always look forward to crossovers in my series. Let me explain the other two series.
The MCs: Taking place at Eastern Kentucky University, this series focuses on Sydney Smith pursuing to become a nurse as well as other characters pursuing their future career in college. This series is a medical show with a little bit more variety. This is one of the few shows that are medically accurate. Obviously this show is not full of made-up nonsense like House M.D. The quality of this show is equivalent to Grey’s Anatomy and the humor is excellent as Scrubs. The ‘MC’ in the title could stand for anything. It could stand for Master Creativity (for Creative Writing Majors) Mathematician Champion (for Math Majors) or, as many people would know it as, Medical Care, it explains why I said “medical show with a little bit more variety” so it’s 75% medical aspect and 25% other college materials. One of the main casts of BAMFs, Katie Jackson, makes the connection within this show because she is a very close friend with the protagonist.
Clare Miller: Taking place in the city of Cincinnati, this series focuses on Clare Miller who is very talented maintaining her shows, school life, and her relationship. The quality of this show is equivalent to Freaks and Geeks. It’s obviously not full of lame tween angst like most modern shows on Disney Channel. And it’s not predictable like most dramas from ABC Family. I figured since I enjoyed interacting with Clare so much, that her name might as well be the title of the show, just like Netflix’s Jessica Jones. Another one of the main cast of BAMFs, Xander Wells, makes the connection within this show because he is in a relationship with her. Most of the phone calls they made took place during the episodes of BAMFs. Sort of like a way to make acknowledgement between the two shows.
Remember when Disney Channel did those three-way crossover episodes? You know, with “That So Raven”, “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” and “Hannah Montana”. If the protagonists from both of those shows get together at NKU for a three-way crossover episode, THAT WOULD BE SO AWESOME! I HOPE TO GOD THAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE!!!
