"No, I don't think I do. I'm not strong enough. I can barely fight for myself. I-I don't think I can do this. I.. I don't want to be left alone..."
"Shh, it's alright. It doesn't really matter if you're not strong enough now. You can get better, smarter, faster. It's just a matter of practice. And you're not alone, you've got me. I could have left this place all these years or even back then, but I decided to stay, for you."
"For me? Why would you do that? What about your life? Your home? All that you've been working for all that time? Theo, why did you stay for me?"
"Because you were kind enough to help me and give me a chance, a chance to a life of my own. You in a way became my newfound family, and I didn't want to leave that behind. I decided to stay, because I knew that I had nothing to lose by doing that, and I'm glad that I did. I care about you, and I know you're still scared, but I promise, I'll be here for you, no matter what."
"I'm glad to hear I managed to do some good. Lately it just feels like I can't do anything right, I just mess things up. My relationship with Bulma, the androids.. I-It still freaks me out, and I'm not sure if I'll ever get over it. I just need some time, it's all too much, and I'm not sure I can do it, I'm not sure if I'm ready yet for the next step. I do want things to work out between us and I feel like I can ease up around you. I'm just worried that I might not be good enough."
"Nonsense. I love you, just the way you are, and you're more than enough to me. And I'm here for you, and I'll always be Yamcha. We'll take it easy, one step at the time. I promise."
And with that, Theo continued to comfort Yamcha, by embracing him, as he still seemed pensive about the entire situation, however returning her warm gesture as he held her arm in his hands, her warm palm cupping his soft yet scarred cheek gently.
I commissioned an artist for my birthday to draw me some Themcha (later on YamcH30) in the Never Left AU, and have a bit of an angsty feel to it. Never Left AU is a divergent to the cannon story of my OC, where instead of dimension hopping and going through her cannon events, she decided to stay with Yamcha in this universe and make a new life.
