Klavier couldn’t help it. Since the day he had met Marshall, his soulmate, Klavier wanted him. But he knew that he couldn’t rush things like that. He knew that he couldn’t just grab Marshall and kidnap him and make him all his own when the other one wasn’t ready for that.

Kristoph held him a pretty long lecture about how to properly behave when dating someone.

Truth be told, Akira was quite bored all alone in the office. His boss had to go check up on something and he was told ‘he’ll be right back’, yet he’s been gone for about twenty minutes now. Was he okay? He was starting to grow worried.

Yet all those worries disappeared as his prosecutor boyfriend entered the room, surprising him with a passionate kiss. “Mmph?!” He fell back on the sofa as he gleefully returned it.

Larry grabs a bag of chips and salsa (why not? He’s going to a friend’s place and they might get hungry!) and hops into his banged-up car. If Marshall really got his hands on one of those special magatamas, then that might mean a serious victory against a certain murderous ghost...

Then again, Larry has zero spiritual power himself, so how could he even hope to bring her to heel, even if he was equipped with one of those? In any case, he pulls up to Marshall’s apartment with a head full of questions. After shooting his old friend a text to let him know that he’s outside, Larry knocks on the door with his free hand and waits.

“Allow me to prove this test result wrong, piece by piece. Firstly, I have a stable job and will continue to stay in the same industry for years. Secondly, I eat enough food or at least maintain the needed energy level so I don’t pass out at unwanted times. Thirdly, I’m not looking for any romantic partners at this moment so that point is false as well.” She noticed how she got a bit too into this - blame her boss and colleague(s) who was excellent at pointing out contradictions - and had a small, confident smile. 

“I...yeah. Tired.”

An understatement. He had barely slept at all the night before.

“I-I’m just thinking is all. I...do that sometimes.”

Kuroyami still shook despite the reassuring hug.

“It’s horrible! Whenever someone I love gets threatened... sometimes I get so angry I black out... and when I wake up I find myself chewing on a limb or eating from them like a wolf eats a deer... it’s disgusting...”

“Oh God, a scary ghost lady is pointing a knife at me. What am I gonna do now?” Marshall deadpanned, barely looking up from the documents he was reading.

‘You’d think security was improved ever since what happened to Klavier…’ Marshall thought, internally rolling his eyes. Either that, or Dahlia was much smarter than what she was given credit for.

“Haven’t seen you in a while, my dear dead cousin. I thought you’d finally gotten bored of me. Alas, miracles seldom happen.” Marshall shrugged nonchalantly, looking his dead cousin straight in the eyes “Been busy lately? Being 'permanently retired’, I assume you have lots of free time to haunt people.”

Oh, yes, I have plenty of free time. Your friend’s “would-be killer” is still at large, and yet here I am. The killer always returns to the scene of the crime, isn’t that what they always say? 

Dahlia keeps her voice light and airy, almost in a sing-song tone. She knows that her sweet inflections tend to get a rise out of people who know what she truly wants. Marshall had been terrified of her as a younger man, but she’d never directly made an attempt on his life. That might change this afternoon.
