On Being Deep And Way Too Extra â This picture youâre looking at, yes the black and white one that shows me âunlookingâ, has been sitting in my gallery for four days now. It took me a whole day to decide whether or not it was âgram-worthyâ, then it took me the remaining three to decide what deep and thoughtful caption, or poem, I would use to accompany it. â No, Iâm not jobless. In fact, Iâm the exact opposite of that and I really hope my boss doesnât see this. I just really like posting super thoughtful things on social media. Shoot me! â What I realized after I failed to come up with something thought provoking enough is how full of crap I am. Yeap! I really only want to post this picture to show off my outfit and my beards. Why canât I just do that without finding a super deep caption? The answer? Because I judge people who do that. â God forbid I post something just because Iâm a vain millennial who gets chemical rushes to the brain when people like and comment on my posts. Thankfully, I am also a reflective millennial which allows me to call myself out when Iâm tripping. I also think it makes me cooler than everyone else. â I say all this to say: âWhy you forming bro?â. Iâm sure Iâm not the only one who has this habit. Thereâs nothing wrong with caring about how youâre perceived on social media but when you start spending time over analyzing and being extra, youâre letting that stuff get to you more than it should. â Honesty is important. Time is important. Donât cheat on honesty and waste your time for something that somebody is going to scroll past anyways. If you want to post your picture and go, post your picture and go. If you actually have something to say, by all means. Just donât lie to yourself and think youâre fooling us because at the end of the day, more people see past your cover up than youâd know. â But Iâm a fine boy sha, Awon ti beard gang! #MCM ayeđđ˝đđ˝đđ˝đđ˝đđ˝ â #BabaCrownsChronicles #TheLagosLogs #SocialMedia #ForTheGram #SlayPapa â Matt. 6:33 ~ #StayCrownedâď¸
