Tueday, April 14th - The Artist life
This past Sunday I went to see my good friends in Shotgun Rules play their final show here in Toronto. The Artist Life also played which was a good time. I saw my friend T.J. Tindale at the show and he was shooting with his Canon 15mm Fisheye, so I asked him if we could trade lenses for a few songs. I havent used a fisheye in a while now so it was fun to play around with it. It was a little strange going from a 16mm wide angle lens to a 15mm fisheye since the view was almost identical, only more round on the fisheye. I will post some Shotgun Rules photos very soon. For now, The Artist Life.
Sunday, March 8th - Blessed By A Broken Heart
Here are the photos of Blessed By A Broken Heart from the show on the 1st. I had never heard this band before the show and I was blown away by how fun they are to watch live. I picked up their CD and its so good. You gotta check it out when you get the chance. Its called "Pedal To The Metal" and its so much fun.

Saturday, March 7th - Kiros/Love Hate Hero
I have been getting a lot of people asking me when I am gonna post my photos from the show on the 1st with Kiros, Love Hate Hero, and Blessed By a Broken Heart. Here they are! Well, at least the Kiros and Love Hate Hero ones. I had a really good time at this show. I didnt even know it was happening until the day of the show when I got a text from my friend Tyler who plays drums in Kiros asking if I wanted to come. I havent shot a show like this in so long so I figured hey why not Ill go and shoot Kiros and then come back to my dungeon like office and do some more work. I hadnt heard of the other bands playing the show so I wasnt going to stay for them but Tyler promised I would not regret sticking around so I did. It turns out he was right. Love Hate Hero and Blessed By a Broken Heart were amazing and I got some cool photos. Check back soon for the Blessed ones. Kiros Love Hate Hero
Monday, January 19th - The Artist Life
Here are some photos I took of The Artist Life back in November when they opened for Means at The Kathedral here in Toronto.
Friday, June 13th - Strike Anywhere
I didnt plan on taking photos at the show last night, but then I made a last minute decision to bring my camera before heading down just in case. I biked over to the venue and realized when I got there that my battery in my camera was dead and I left the other two on the charger. I didnt think it would be a big deal since I didnt want to shoot anyway. By the time I got to The Kathedral, Carpenter, and Hostage Life had already played which kinda sucked since I wanted to see both of those bands. I walked in the door just as This Is A Standoff was starting. This Is A Standoff features ex members from Belvedere, Fourty Cent Fix, and One Shot Left. I definitely remember many years ago living in Dauphin Manitoba, helping my friend James put on a Belvedere show so it was awesome to see them play. Unfortunately my batteries were dead in my camera so I couldnt take any photographs Next up was The Flatliners who I have heard so much about but never seen play, or actually heard before for that matter. They got a song and a half into their set before I realized that I wasnt going to be able to handle watching the rest of the show without taking any pictures, so I got on my bike and headed home as fast as I could to pick up a second battery. I made it back with enough time to see The Flatliners last two songs and got a few photos in. Finally it was time for Strike Anywhere, who I have been a huge fan of for many many years. I saw them at two of their last three shows in Toronto and they are always amazing. As soon as they started playing, the whole crowd went mental and people started stage diving almost instantly. After shooting a couple songs from side stage, I decided to head into the crowd instead. I realized in a hurry that wearing my glasses was a bad idea. I gave them to my friend Billy to hold on to and I went back in to shoot. I got kicked in the head a few times by some kids crowd surfing which is totally cool since Im all for having the most fun you can have at a show. At one point, someone landed on my head and somehow the battery door on my flash popped open and my batteries fell onto the floor into the middle of the crowd. Luckily my friend Russ was also shooting and he had a couple to spare so I got those from him and went back to shooting for the rest of the show. I was really happy with how the photos turned out and I was glad I decided to go back for that battery after all. I feel like sometimes you just need to get kicked in the head at a show to make you remember why you loved it in the first place. Check out my favorites below.
