❝ no he won't. ❞ in all honesty, they're not sure which HE they're talking about. if emile means robert, then unfortunately nothing will make him go away. maybe emile can suppress the hallucinations with his powers, but robert will never truly go away. and if he means joe... well, thats a harder subject, isn't it? because september doesnt want joe to go away, september doesn't see the problem in the dynamic created. they just see one more father figure that emile is trying to tear away from them, one more person who cares about them that emile doesn't consider good enough. joes getting into their head, it's so easy to start making emile seem like the bad guy. ❝ and maybe i don't want him to leave. ❞ its a sad statement no matter who they're talking about, but accurate all the same. they always have been just a little bit addicted to the pain, at home in the suffering.

things are starting to be okay again, they're starting to be how they used to be. it'll never be forgotten, what they did. the scar on his side will always remind them of what they did, but things are different now. and now that joe is GONE.... well, it seems like they might just be okay. that is, when september isn't saying things like that. it had just slipped out, they didn't mean to say it out loud: i miss joe. they certainly didn't expect emile to hear. when they look up they see that look in his eyes, his desperate pleading to stop. he's tried to tell them over and over how horrible joe was (HE MADE YOU STAB YOUR BOYFRIEND! mouth closes again, and its very clear that that's what they were going to say. they want to scream it from the rooftops, yell it with all that they have. I DO LOVE YOU! YOU TAUGHT ME WHAT IT MEANS TO BE LOVED! and yet nothing comes out. what could they possibly say? after what they did to him, the fact that they still aren't willing to let joe go... (its just like robert, but they refuse to see it — and refuse to accept that robert was even bad in the first place). he hates them, they know he does. why wouldn't he? they stabbed him, thats not an easy thing to forgive. ❝ but i do. ❞ voice is low, nervous. some part of them thinks he might just tell them to fuck off, maybe even kill them or stab them back. it wouldn't be surprising — he's a dangerous man. ❝ i know you hate me.
