It got me thinking of things from the fans' perspective.

What if they see Ryou hanging out with Yugi and part of why they love Ryou so much is that he innocently LOVES games, especially board games and Monster World.

For this reason, Ryou’s fangirls love giving him games to play. And, of course, he accepts them.

Then he plays with them. Whenever he has fun with one, he gives a very nice thank-you letter. On all the others, he gives an average thank-you letter so the bigger thank-yous feel more genuine.

Sometimes Ryou plays his new games with Seto. But he also plays them with Yugi. He wants Yugi to feel like he can play games with him without feeling like it'll turn to a Shadow Game.

Then Bakura abuses this. -_-

But Ryou is typically very cheery, whether real or not, which probably makes him seem very down-to-earth.
