“I’m going to get us out, Pax,” My voice slipped, biting my lips hard as I tried to think. The room was dark and quiet as if our makings was not found. I’m going to get us out, I’m going to get us out.

If I could bring my memories on the table, revisit them again and find what went wrong, I would. But tonight, was it already morning? Time could only tell me in the cold, dark room I was with Pax. Hendrick said Donnie left, but it was the least of my concerns when Hendrick told us another story. Poured another beer for us.

Nothing good ever came out of Hendrick's place, they claimed that his house was inhabited, still Hendrick dared us to get inside. A charming smile, that flush of his cheeks was enough to make us agree to go with him. We settled with Hendrick comfortably, who in the right mind would refuse his offer just weeks getting to know him. But I wished I could have told them, told Pax and Donnie, to think things through. But like a siren call, my mind was clouded from judgment and curiosity had killed me.

“We’re together in this, right? Us, friends?” Hendrick said to the other day.

“Of course, we have been together since freshmen,  duh,” I said, wondering why Pax and Donnie didn’t speak up. So I went back to eating my lunch, avoiding the looks from Donnie.
