          Well, shit. This lazyass gatekeeper’s got some bite in him after all! Kokutō threw back his head to laugh before the guy could even finish his sentences with their direct quotations and questioning citations — Damn, that’s comedic as hell!           He figured he’d fuck around with the guy and return the favor by asking the same loaded question to him, but this gatekeeper with his raised brows and confuzzled as shit expression was genuinely trying to have a conversation and decipher what might as well be something more like petty retribution.

          Seriously! Kokutō just wanted to tease him a lil to pass the time shootin’ the shit while kickin’ the dog when it’s already down, right down in the inferno thanks to his shinigami nakama or whatever, but now he’s curious, ‘cos the guy entertained him. Props to ya, gatekeeper!

          — What the hell? Was this nosy and obnoxiously lazy gatekeeper trying to pick a fight with Kokutō, or did he actually want to get down to the philosophical nitty-gritties about why was he the way he was? Whatever. Made no difference to him what the former shinigami captain wanted, or didn’t want, from him; He’d just answer it normally, even if the question didn’t make any goddamn sense to him. That type of question was more provocation than pondering. This guy was insinuating instead of inquiring.            Why the hell was anyone the way that they were? Ain’t something like that just as simple as nature and nurture? Ain’t it obvious? The hell did the Kamikake gatekeeper want to hear from him? Did he want justification or excuses from a guy like Kokutō, who sure as shit won’t be makin’ any arguments or excuses for himself, much less take responsibility for someone else’s shallow opinions of him? Tch, this conversation’s already pissin’ him off somethin’ fierce, and he ain’t even given his answer yet! What a complete waste of time.
