Wow, friends, what a week it’s been. Both personally and politically, this week has been such a rollercoaster ride of emotions, I’ve been quiet about my own news, and had my mind so focused on election news, I haven’t felt much like posting. Now that we can all finally let out a sigh of relief, here’s a little update on me: Last week, I had to have emergency surgery to repair two tendons in my right hand. This news was devastating for a myriad of reasons, but the most upsetting part about it was breaking the news to my remaining brides. In the over decade that I’ve been doing weddings, I’ve never had to cancel, so having to find solutions for a handful of brides, especially after all the disappointments they’ve faced this year already, felt particularly awful. Thankfully, I had the support of my amazing friends and colleagues, who were all willing to step in and help wherever they could. Thank you so much @hairbypam__ @kiate__ @staciesnyderbeauty @whiskeyandadream for your friendship and support, and for taking such good care of my beloved brides. I also want to say thank you to my amazing fiancé @alexjdoucette for being there for me every step of the way. Thank you for spending 36+ hours in the emergency room with me, for making sure I had everything I needed, and that I left the hospital looking fresh AF. Thank you for taking such good care of me, and for waking up every three hours throughout the night to make sure I took my meds. Thank you for doing my hair for me, and painting my nails so I’d feel a little less like a mess. Thank you for putting up with (and often matching) my stubbornness, and forcing me to accept help, even when I was convinced I didn’t need it.
