The Fire House Zine ~series finale~ is here! It’s about living in a DIY house venue called The Fire House in Lancaster, Ohio for 4 years. You can learn the names of all our cat buddies, why it was called The Fire House, and how we tried to create a DIY scene and build community.

I learned so much from organizing my first zine festival/art show and I can’t wait to do it again. 

One thing I learned is that you can’t do it all alone and I need to say thank you to many people. Jamie Brown, thank you for helping me deal with anxiety and keep my focus in a positive realm. Fire House roommates and friends, thank you for doing a lot of the behind the scenes work, such as moving heavy stuff, icing cupcakes, or saying hello to people and showing them around. Derek Shutts was an all-star zine fest helper. Thank you for your hard work. 

Charlie, Agatha, Andrew and Nova Crew, Thank you for supporting this zine event! It meant a lot to me that you were there. Thank you for driving here and telling other people about this event and bringing nice people here that I got to meet. 

I also have to give a huge shout out to the zine community from tmblr, and we make zines. I was blown away by the support and amount of mail in submission that I received in pure support of this fest. Here are lots of pictures of the day for all the mail-in supporters to see what it was like, and how their work was displayed! Each day a package arrived it gave me motivation to keep working on this zine fest. Thank you zine community!
