Olympus PEN Lite E-PL5
I got myself a new camera last Sunday. It was most definitely an impulse buy, but I bought it with my honeymoon in mind so I don't feel too guilty. I wanted something that would take quality photos like my DSLR without being so heave, and so I chose a mirrorless digital camera.
My only gripe with this camera is that it doesn't have a viewfinder, and therefore I have to use the screen to take all my photos. It's a little annoying but I am getting used to it. Other than that, I am really enjoying it. It's sexy, sleek, and very similar to my DSLR, settings wise. The reason I wanted to change my camera was because I wanted a higher resolution, the ability to record video, and to be able to carry it around without it being too much of a burden. Luckily my new Olympus ticks all those boxes.
I have yet to try go out and use this baby yet (working full time makes it hard to find time to take photos) but here are a few of the snapshots I was able to get:
I am hoping my new purchase will help bring out the photographer in me again but we'll have to wait and see.
Note: These photos have not been edited, and were taken using the manual setting of the camera. It made me realise how terrible I am at the manual focus setting! This means I need more practice! Hopefully more photos up soon!
Until next time, Valerie
