Hey so I know Hawks is a double spy but like, I don't know for who? That chapter kind of confused me. When it all comes to down to it, is he actually spying for the LOV or the heroes? Where do his true loyalties lie?
Here are the objective facts that have been proven by canon:
- Hawks is a hero. He has been a hero ever since a young age. He was taken in by the hero commission as a child.
- The Hero Commission ordered him to become a spy for the League of Villains.Â
- He feels immense guilt for working together with Dabi to hurt Endeavor during the High End incident. He even thinks “Endeavor… I’m sorry” while looking on remorsefully in front of the man with bandages wrapped around his head.
So… as of now, chapter 222, he is (at least attempting to become) a spy in the League of Villains but his true loyalties lie with the heroes. He’s not a villain, he doesn’t agree nor does he have reason to agree with the actions of the League of Villains.
But things change. Hawks doesn’t know all the details as of yet, and there’s no way to predict what Horikoshi will want for him in the future. Maybe he will switch loyalties (which I talked about extensively before) or maybe he won’t. Things have to happen in canon for that switch in ideologies to be made though.Â
As much as I love villain!Hawks, it’s not viable until Horikoshi develops Hawks more as a character or things happen that convinces Hawks to make the change.
He is a hero until Horikoshi hints/implies at otherwise.
(btw if you saw my title/description and got confused, it’s more or less a joke or a wish to see Hawks actually become a lov member. He’s not actually a lov member… no matter how many of us wish he was >.<)
