Veronica, an African-American single mother of two in desperate need of a vacation, leaves NYC and travels to the Catskills, to find the perfect cabin rental. She manages to find a place from a year-round local named Hogan who promises to have the “extremely rustic” rental in suitable condition by the time she arrives. Unfortunately, neither the cabin nor the vacation ever live up to her expectations as these two opposites have to confront each other and a looming crisis they can’t escape.
Winner of the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize for Proof and the Outer Critics Circle award for Tick, Tick Boom! playwright, David Auburn’s latest work, “Lost Lake” which had its premiere at Manhattan Theater Club, in New York in 2014, is the inaugural production for the newly formed Gritty City Theatre Company at the Hamilton Fringe Festival.
