Planet Earth Spin - Gotland Wool Yarn
It is done! All 24 oz (680 g) of the Gotland wool roving that I dyed has been spun, chain plied, and the twist is set.
From start to finish it took me 80 hands on hours to get 781 yards of 20 wpi, 45 degree S twist, chain plied yarn.
I started with 100% gotland wool roving that I dyed for a monthly fiber spinning club. I was a newbie dyer when I did this so I felted the roving slightly. I dyed up another batch (without felting it) sending it to the club, and kept this batch of 22, 1.1-ish braids for personal use. I ended up drum carding each of the braids into lovely, lofty batts and spinning them up over the last couple of weeks.
I’m still getting my feel of things back since it’s been over five years since I have spun thanks to injuries that ultimately led to my diagnosis of ehler-danlos syndrome, among other autoimmune disorders, so the yarn isn’t the most consistent and is nowhere near what I used to be able to spin. But being able to sit at my wheel at all is wonderful.

Finished this cozy granny poncho!! I've had this green yarn for EVER and it's already been frogged at least once, so it feels great to finally have it made into something I love :> the hood turned out so huge and fairytaley which is just what I wanted
Pattern: for the body I used the (free) Boho Poncho pattern from Lion Brand, though I changed up the edging. The hood is based on the 'Crochet Granny Stitch Hood Tutorial' by PassioKnit Kelsie on YouTube
Yarn: The body yarn is from King Cole, but I've had it so long I have no idea what it was - I think it may even have been discontinued :''( The lining is Stylecraft 'That Colour Vibe' in 'Joy' and 'Bold'
Clearly unblocked, but here it is! The actual crochet work on the swan doily is finished! The pattern is from the 1980s, needs some serious blocking but I'm happy with how it turned out.

I have gotten so intimidated by my half-finished griffin that I made a chimeraesque frankencreature to get over my sewing fear! He's a little abomination and he will be adopted by the friend who encouraged me to make him <3
For this project I only used scrap felt and as many failed/unused parts from previous creatures. So he has:
A peryton (deer) head made for practice
Mismatched try-out dragon horns
Unused dragon spines
Recut cerberus inner legs
A kitsune tail made from the same scraps as cerberus
An alternative rabbit body I've never gotten to make before
It was very comforting to sew something that did not activate (all) my perfectionism~
