frank have you ever heard the band repeat offender? they were from brisbane australia and they were really good
I thought the band I was just talking about was from Canada?
what’s your favorite species of crocodilian? mine is the saltwater crocodile!
Cool!
Also I had this thought a while ago when I looked at the taxonomy -- that in order to make sense of things like how crocodiles reproduce and whether they're considered reptiles by biologists these days we basically have to recognize that this line of thinking is totally arbitrary, because there are many more species of all these animals than there are currently recognized "reptiles" or "amphibians"
One could just as easily say that giraffes are only giraffes if you're not really talking about cows -- even if giraffes are very different from cows, it's really hard to imagine why you wouldn't consider them part of the "cows" umbrella term, for instance
(Another option, of course, is to just lump all of these groups together in a big "reptile" category, and say things like "most crocodiles are non-carnivorous" without explaining the difference between crocodiles and alligators, who are really different -- just like humans and chimpanzees are -- and why we don't just include them both in the reptile category)
