There wasn't much going on this Thursday, and my friend, Jules, was serving at The Bearded Lady and another one of my favorite bartenders, Conor, was going to join me. 

I arrived earlier than Conor so I had an hour or so chilling by myself on the patio.  I had a whole table to myself when three lovely ladies came outside, talking about the unavailability of seating.  So I invited them to sit at my table with me.  These were some girls knowledgeable about craft beer.  It was pretty impressive.  I, for one, know NOTHING about craft beer.  Luckily, Jules was able to recommend a few to me.  The first one, a Hawiian wheat beer, was amazing!  And then she recommended one that is made from the same hops champagne is made from and I was IN LOVE!  And it's 8.5% alcohol by volume so it took me less to start feeling buzzed, I only had 3. 

They've recently started serving food at The Bearded Lady and even though I had just eaten, I had to have something it smelt so darn good.  I ordered the fried whole okra, which were amazing, and one of my new lady friends had the fries and sauce.  The sauce is basically ketchup with a one of the craft beers mixed in it.  Very interesting.  The whole menu is different and fairly well priced. 

Conor finally showed and behind him a slew of people who know him from Embargo.  I met a lot of new people while Conor and I talked shop.  This is what I love about this place in particular, it brings such a chill crowd and meeting someone new almost always happens.  The Bearded Lady is easily the best spot on Magnolia.  Next time I'm coming hungry and trying a burger.

After Jules finished her shift, a few of us went to The Chat Room Pub down the street.  We walk by these bushes and I'm busy talking to Jules walking ahead of the group when we hear this commotion, turn around, and one of the guys with us, Reagan, was stuck in the bushes!  "I tried to crowd surf them, they looked like they could hold me" he says struggling to get out.  That fool went straight through, those bushes had nothing on this big guy!  Definitely the most entertaining walk down Magnolia I've ever had.

The Chat Room is always a great time, I usually see a few people I know, and I had good company this night.  Even ran into Wes Word from Psychedelephant.
