I've kinda lost interest in SVTFOE as of late, Season 3 failed to wow me like Season 2 did (I was especially disappointed by Toffee's death. I love Eclipsa, but Toffee was more interesting). The Season 4 preview was just nothing for me. I want to continue with this show (especially since S4 is very likely the final one), but I'm just really disappointed with it from S3 onward.
Iâm sorry you feel like that, but itâs an understandable reaction: while personally I think that S3 has been the best so far in terms of pacing, characters growth and story, I think most fans would agree that it has also been the least enjoyable season so far. The strain in Star and Marcoâs relationship brought a change that rippled throughout the season, delivering little to no âfun adventureâ episode (Trial By Squire and Marco Jr. were essentially the only ones), and Starâs need to change Mewni in the first half of the season and all the revelations about her family in the second half monopolized the plot part of the story, leading to several episodes that, while mostly interesting and objectively good, were lacking as far as âstand alone funâ goes. Personally this wasnât a huge issue to me, since Iâve always appreciate the showâs ability to drastically change status quo, focus and narrative from season to season, as if they were acts of a longer story, chapters of a book, rather than separated TV entities, but I also crave, NEED, for Season 4 to bring back the good from the first seasons, mixed to the good of the most recent one, delivering something that allows all the characters involved to be ready to take on all the loose ends of the story - plot and character development wise - while putting to good use all they learned up to that point. And hopefully itâs going to partially rekindle the flame of interest in you, and other fans whom might feel the same.
I wish Star Vs would go back to the old animation it had in the first 10 episodes of the series (Star Comes to Earth through Brittney's Party) it was so much more fun and lively.
Personally I like RDKâs one more: less bouncy and detailed, but waaay better, in my opinion, at conveying facial expressions and feelings, since they try to copy the storyboards as closely as possible, instead of going âthis is how we draw a sad face. This is how we draw a happy faceâ like Sugarcube and, in a lesser way, Mercury did.
Even though these arenât actually graves, I felt like this was a missed opportunity to make a joke about Eddyâs height (having his âgraveâ shorter than the others)

Interesting point! It probably wouldâve raised too many questions when itâs revealed theyâre just mud pits since the pigs arenât different sizes. Itâs a gag that works better in its simplicity but I do find it strange that they chose to make the Edsâ shadows all the same length... I guess itâs fair since Eddyâs hat is really compensating for his height, though.
I'm heavily disappointed with characters like Toffee and Jackie. They kicked them out of the show too soon tbh. I wish we could see more of them
I donât necessarily mind for Jackie, because while it might have been interesting to see a character who was that important to Marco (and Star) get more screentime, itâs not like the show ever lead us to believe sheâd have got hefty amounts of developments, we always saw her from Marcoâs perspective. For Toffee... itâs different. I think 99% of the fandom wanted to know more about him, to see him more (in flesh and bones, not inside Ludo), and that the way he was defeated in the nick of time felt a bit anticlimactic, and yet... how could things have gone? He was too dangerous and powerful to be allowed to roam free, they had to do off with him immediately, or the whole season would have been vastly different. Iâd have loved to know more about his past, though (and I still havenât given up hope that we might know more, eventually. Heâs called Toffee, had Eclipsaâs marks on his shoulder skulls, and knew where the Monster Temple was, for godâs sake! Come on, there has to be a connection to Eclipsa that runs deeper than âWhen Toffee dies Eclipsa is free so theyâre thematically connectedâ!)

I apologise of you've already been asked this, but what are your predictions for Season 4?
Something about the Realm of Magic, something about Globgor, something about the Blood Moon, maybe something about Star questioning even more who she is. Tomstar ending, Starco, Glossaryck being hopefully more influential than he was during S3. Very very generic expectations.
I'm disappointed by the lack of Buff Frog, Ludo and Dennis this season. Fuck Pony Head and her multiple episodes
Lowkey same, even though I like Pony - when sheâs not the sole focus of an episode, though.
Can I just say that I love this blog! I love all the commentary you have to give for these books!
Thank you! Itâs a pleasure to do.
May StarClan light your path!
