Book review: Good Me Bad Me by Ali Land
Milly's mother is a serial killer. Though Milly loves her mother, the only way to make her stop is to turn her in to the police. Milly is given a fresh start: a new identity, a home with an affluent foster family, and a spot at an exclusive private school. But Milly has secrets, and life at her new home becomes complicated. As her mother's trial looms, with Milly as the star witness, Milly starts to wonder how much of her is nature, how much of her is nurture, and whether she is doomed to turn out like her mother after all. When tensions rise and Milly feels trapped by her shiny new life, she has to decide: Will she be good? Or is she bad? She is, after all, her mother's daughter
So today I finished the book good me bad me
Which was realised January this year. I had my eye on this book for a while I read the synopsis when I spotted it one day when shopping and it really intrigued me but I never picked it up, I think it was recently realised in paperback at waterstones and it had its little page on the website about the author and the book so I decided to pick it up and I'm glad I did.
This book had me glued to every page Ali lands way of writing is a little different to what I've read just in the dialogue sense but i took to it straight away. The main character Milly is great she's strong in so many ways and also
Vulnerable and you can see and feel that when your reading her story. There is a scene in the book where they are in court and the way she wrote it, it just felt like you were there in this court room she put a great lot of detail to it which brought that whole scene alive.
It's intense, thrilling and keeps your hooked on every page really enjoyed this my favourite of this year so far.
5/5 âââââ
