bpsd replied to your post: Is friendship something natural (an instinct to befriend someone) or a universal culture? - What do you think?
The Genus Homo almost exclusively consisted of animals who lived in social groups. This has continued with Homo Sapiens, I have found that few things are as much fun as just hanging out with a group of friends. The need to socialize is built into us.
good point! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_animals has a list of other animals that i found quite interesting - i did not know spiders were social, for instance. this line from that article may be of interest to theblackdot:
A chief debate among ethologists studying animal societies is whether non-human primates and other animals can be said to have culture.
also agreed, re: socialising with friends. although nowadays i rarely see more than three friends at any given time... which suits me just fine! it can be enjoyable to meet new people too, as it forces me out from my "comfort zone" and gain another perspective occasionally.

Thanks for your reply, there are good ideas, I’m rethinking about my perspective of it now. I like it. I’ll post my point of view in bit.
glad you liked it. it was just a bit of a braindump as you can tell... i remember when i used to conduct research and consult books instead of just pulling things straight out of my as^W^Whead...
you were going to write about free will also, if i remember correctly? i'd be interested in hearing what you have to say on that too. and your insights on how english is taught in france too... when you get a round tuit... rx
