At first i was really hestaint to watch this, probably took half a dozen or so scrolls past before watching it. But it's a good movie. I mean..for 2008. If this was released now, I'd consider this ablest cause I don't think it's right for a high end spectrum person to be played by someone who (hasn't admitted publicly) isn't on the autism spectrum. Yes, I know there's different ends of the spectrum and but I still think it's wrong for a non autistic person to play an autistic person, especially one that's on the upper scale like Charlie is. There is some disabled slurs used. Again, if this movie was made now I would've grr'd but it was 2008 and this language was considered normal for most people during the early/mid 2000s. I like how they did a different side to a something in the army. They didn't show a man shooting enemies etc instead a father, a husband. A man trying to help is pregnant wife, a man whose a dad to two boys; one on the autism spectrum and the other who isn't. A man in the army who uses a teddy bear (I assume) to cope with ptsd and communication with his wife. I like the way they used sign language to communicate with Charlie.
