“Okay, hear me out, Nativity scene but with all the different liquor bottles,” He conceptualized Thea as they walked through the liquor store together. He had been out getting a couple of bottles as Christmas gifts when he had bumped into the bar owner, small talk about Christmastime quickly snowballing. “Like,” They had paused at the whiskey shelf now, gesturing to it as the idea spiraled in his head. “Jack, Jim and Johnny can, like, be The Three Wise Men!” He offered. “And the baby Jesus can be like one of those little miniatures you see this time of year.”

What was better than brunch? Brunch with bottomless mimosas and a woman she considered a good friend. "I didn't know if I'd be able to catch you with a free second or not. Can't be easy being such a boss," she teased as the other sat in the chair opposite of her. She'd arrived early, hellbent on getting a decent seat before the rest of Providence Peak opted to roll in to enjoy the goodness that was the food and of course, the alcohol. "You look great, T. We have to stop going so long between catching up. So, I have to ask... how's life? Conquering any new business avenues lately?"

Without a doubt the cowboy knew every watering hole in town well, and was no stranger to planting himself on a stool at the bar of Holy Spirits. Both his father and grandfather alike had stories to share about the history of this place, and perhaps that was a reason he was fairly fond of it.

That, and it wasn't quite as common of a venue for that crowd that knew him well.

Sometimes a man just wanted to drink all the sorrows and heartache away in peace.

"What's the top shelf stuff doing up there just sitting around lookin' pretty," he commented to Thea as she made an appearance. The question could easily be misconstrued and was a bit of a flirtatious play as his smirking eyes and lips were directed at her but his mind on the expensive whiskey just wasting away on a perch.

Though usually one who enjoyed meetings, even those that others would find cumbersome, Mallory was feeling out of the zone this day. Perhaps it was getting back into work after an abnormal (well, for her) break in work or perhaps the stifling hot weather despite being September. Nonetheless, she was pleased when the meeting finally broke and she escaped into the cool of the lobby, eyes focusing on a familiar face. “Hope you’re not here for some legal counsel for anything troubling,” Mallory greeted in a gentle teasing tone.

Time had humbled her and so had her downfalls. Was she confident that she was an incredible woman? Some days more than others, but was she the level of cool she'd thought she was back as a teenager? Not even close to it. "Do the world and a favor and share some of that confidence," she teased with an eye roll. In all fairness, Thea was incredibly cool by definition. It was one of the many things she liked about the other businesswoman and truthfully, was one of the reasons that she'd been the first person for Verda to reach out to. "I didn't think it would be much of a problem. Trust me, I understand. It's business." And in order to succeed, the bitter truth had to slip out from time to time, but she didn't think that the other would ever try to purposefully hurt her feelings over anything. "See? We're getting somewhere already and we haven't even really started yet."

After making their rounds from food option to food option, Verda led the way to an open table, picking one side and nodding towards the other for Thea to take. "Should we enjoy our food first, or should I get to it?"

With their orders placed, Nadia was assured that they’d bring the drinks to the table once they were finished. “So, drinks will be out shortly. I guess they had a minor issue with the espresso machine, but fear not, it’s back up and running.” She was thankful that Thea had been willing to meet up with her because the lonely nights of staring at her ceiling until the early hours of the morning was getting tiresome and quite frankly, she was starting to lose her sanity. “How are things? I’m assuming business is booming? How’s Elliot?” She was desperate for someone to give her something good. Between her own life and the cases she worked, her happy stories were running short. “Just give me something good. I need it almost as much as I need my drink.”

Last call had came and went but Phoebe was reluctant to leave the small speakeasy, cosy and warm in the cold March night. So she stayed, nursing her drink, as she watched the small number of staff close up, not really paying her mind as she was quiet and relatively sober. “You own this place, right?” She said to the woman behind the bar, recognising her face from photos posted in articles about the bar under the church. “Does it ever get, like, real spooky on your own? Or do you make sure you’re never alone down here?” Phoebe herself didn’t actually believe in ghosts, despite her whimsical nature, but it was always a fun topic of discussion.
