He ignored her offering to go — they both knew that she wasn't going to. If she wanted to go, she wouldn't have accidentally stumbled upon his stand in the first place. Watching her pick up one of his items should have made him choose his words more carefully, but he'd always had a penchant for loose lips when it involved Ingrid. "New roomie or six-pack-abs boyfriend?" He couldn't help but question, when she didn't specify exactly who was married. Surely it couldn't be CJ, but Sam wasn't sure it would make sense for it to be Dean either, especially since the two had been planning on moving in together, which meant him getting married would be a little odd and possibly a little crowded? The whole situation was enough to send Samar into a pit of confusion. "Not sure, where do Barbies go after one night stands?"
@ingridlczano
She looked at him, wondering if he was going to answer that, and for once, felt a little relieved he completely ignored her. "He's not my boyfriend," Ingrid responded and rolled her eyes, moving to take a seat on his small chair, her eyes glancing over at Sammy. "He got drunk and got married in Vegas. I mean, it's pretty funny if you think about it, but yeah -- it is what it is. You can be a dick about it, but not to him, capeesh?" she added, a subtle warning that he should not be mean to CJ again. Thankfully, Dean had a long way to go before tying the knot with anyone, especially since they were focusing on finding the right apartment. "I wouldn't know, you're the one befriending them apparently. Have you lost control of your dolly now?"
@sammypersaud
"You won't have to wait long, I'll be cruising to the finish line before you know it," she promised, not for a moment considering any other outcome. Ty had done well in the race in previous years and even if she had a somewhat less skilled partner, she had enough faith in herself that she didn't see anyone else taking the win. Her head bobbed, kind of getting not being a water person, at least when it came to the lake. "Lake water is kind of fucking gross, so that's fair. I like the ocean alright, though, I go yachting a lot." She had a boat on the dock in her backyard for the lake too, though that was far less exciting to take out.
@ingridlczano
"Somehow I don't doubt that," Ingrid exclaimed and actually smiled at her, thinking that with her confidence, it must have been an easy task. She had been witness to those strong arms after taking the self-defense class the woman needed. "Yachting, huh? Sounds fancy. I think I like being on solid ground.. makes me feel safer. And then, I guess not knowing how to swim plays a big role in that," Ingrid half-joked, making a face. "Good luck though. I mean it."

dominic was lucky when it came to his kids. despite everything that he'd gone through, they didn't seem to hate him for lack of a mother figure. he hoped that they knew it wasn't his fault. what has happened wasn't in the cards and god, he missed his wife more than anything. he knew that she wasn't coming back though and so, he went on with life as he knew she'd want him to and tried to make his kids as happy as possible. he sighed in relief as ingrid agreed to help him and offered her a smile. "do you want something too? i don't mind buying you lunch as payment. that is, as long as you have the time. if you don't, that's okay too." he didn't like people to feel as though he was using them and he liked to show his appreciation as much as he could. "right, napkins. i'll get plenty of them. kai is always the one that needs them most."
Perhaps it was the fact she grew up without a mother that made her understand better what these three needed, felt, or thought from time to time. Even though Ingrid's role was by no means a motherly one, she hoped her presence could help as much as possible. She wasn't aware of the details, and to her, those were not important. The difference was that their mother didn't have the choice not to be present in their lives, and yet, their dad was doing everything in his power to make sure the kids were happy, and Ingrid respected that. She wished someone had done the same for her and her sister, but after all these years, it was something she stopped thinking about as often. "No, I'm okay -- I'm having a late lunch with my sister," she explained softly, reaching for Oliver and Kai's hands. "Thank you though," the brunette added with a smile, making sure the two youngest were secure and not getting too close to the animals that were three times their size before smiling at Dominic again. "I've got some tissues, but better be prepared. We'll be over there, petting and feeding the bunnies."
@dominichuang
It took him a moment to think about, shrugging uselessly at Ingrid. He wasn't a 'dates' man, after all. "I've been getting the injections since maye the summer? Or like September?" To him, time was extremely blurry. He took the tissues with a grateful smile, wiping his eyes before blowing his nose, crumpling it up before throwing it in the nearest trash can they passed, just letting Ingrid drag them to where the stalls were, letting out a soft sigh of disappointment as they passed the goat without any fanfare. "Bench there!" He pointed out to where seemed like a free picnic bench amongst the crowds. "Yeah, like, rent is stupid expensive these days for what you get. Hey —" He smiled up at her, the lightbuld flickering on above his head. "You should check the buildings on my block, they're like old and most of them are above stores and stuff, but ours is pretty big. Three bedrooms and that, and like our landlord is cool as hell. I'm sure one of the apartments in our building became vacant like a week ago too!"
☆ @ingridlczano
Sometimes, the brunette wished she could be as carefree and have zero fucks given like him. "I swear you're adorable," Ingrid muttered, unable to control her laugh. She assumed that since it was already five months, well, the injections should have been working, but that could only be the case if CJ kept up with the treatment, and knowing him, she wasn't sure that was the case. Making her way slowly toward the bench he pointed at, Ingrid finally took a seat across from him and made herself comfortable. "Wait, really? That'd be cool. Do you have his contact details so I can reach out to him? It's only going to be Dean and I, and well, the cats, but it would be super nice to be neighbors with one of my favorite people. Who knows, maybe you'll get sick of me though, or worse -- become allergic," she teased. "But in all seriousness, can you get me the guy's number? I can call and check how big the place is."

If there was anything Ty loved in life it was people cheering for her. She had a lot of it in her career, but even in the stupid small things like this, that kind of attention always boosted her ego. "Hell yeah. Might as well cheer for the eventual winner," Tyler agreed with a slight swagger in her shoulders as she said it. Ty didn't know yet who she was being paired with for it and perhaps would have lost all that confidence if she knew what was coming, but at least in the moment she didn't doubt for a second that she'd take the win. "Did you come to watch anyone specific?"
@ingridlczano
Being someone that no one cheered for, usually, Ingrid could kind of understand her reaction. She could even consider being loud for her, if Ty made it close to the top, and it seemed like a high possibility that would be the case. "I like your confidence. I'll go sit at the front so you can hear me," she half joked, because she anyway wanted to be able to see the race better. "No, not really. I'm just done with my shift at the food truck, so I wanted to see what this is all about. It's cool, but I'm not a huge water person. I just like to watch and not go near it."

— ingrid lozano samar's vendor space, spring market.
Things had been touch and go with the woman on the other side of his vendor space ever since their argument a few weeks prior, but that's how it always was with them. They fought, they made up (or made out), then they did it all over again. Of their own accord, of course. If he didn't want to, he wouldn't. But Ingrid was... Ingrid. She meant the world to him and he wasn't ever going to give that up (and he couldn't tell the truth and say he hated the fight at the same time). "You're scaring away all of my good customers, y'know," Sam called out in the direction of where the other was sifting through some smaller knick knacks and pieces he had displayed. What he said was the opposite of true. Typically, Ingrid helped sell more pieces than he did on a normal day when she wasn't bothering him at his stand during the farmer's market. She just had something convincing about her. "Shouldn't you be bothering pool boy or your new roommate anyway?"
@ingridlczano
Their last fight had pissed her off, majorly, but it didn't erase the fact she had missed his stupid ass. A lot. Spending time apart from Samar wasn't something she enjoyed, and despite both of them being stubborn little shits, he was her person. Always had been. In an old, classic Ingrid way, the brunette ( who was never going to admit such a thing ) came up with the best possible plan to see him.. and that was to walk by his vendor space and pretend she had no idea he was going to be there. Picking up a small garden statue of a frog, she raised a brow, and placed it back where it was displayed. "Yeah? Then I should go." she replied annoyed as she made her way closer to him, "He's a busy married man now and you know how I don't do married." He'd find out anyway, so why hide that? "Where's your fake Barbie doll?"

the kids had insisted on going to the petting zoo and he was all for it, and normally he could even handle them on his own but the three of them seemed a little out of control this time around. dominic honestly couldn't have been more thankful when he managed to run into a familiar face, "ingrid," he breathed out in almost a defeated tone, "i know you're probably here to have a good time and you're definitely not on duty but do you think that you could give me a hand? just until i make it to the concession stand and get some food in their bellies. i think they all might be hungry."
It wasn't an easy task, pulling herself away from the area where puppies and kittens were waiting to be adopted without taking one of them home, so when she walked by the petting zoo, full of kids and their parents, the brunette wasn't surprised to see Dominic and the kids. She liked them, a lot, and despite that being her job, everyone knew that babysitting didn't exactly mean she liked all the kids she worked with. These three, were an exception. "Hi you guys," the brunette greeted happily, watching as the little one ran to hug her legs. "Oh, yeah, sure thing—we'll be right here, petting some animals, and super behaving," Ingrid promised, winking at the eldest child and motioning toward a small goat. "We'll be fine, really. Take your time, I was here to say hello to some old friends anyway. And yes, I mean the goat," she joked, just to make the kids giggle. "Don't forget to get napkins... a lot of them."
@dominichuang
Another sniffle left him. Perhaps it was because Prof MC didn’t bother with CJ anymore that he thought allergies were completely cured, completely ignoring how the doctors had told him this sort of treatment took time for it to properly work. “Maybe…” He mused, though it was a doctor Wren had set him up with and after the whole marriage business, didn’t want to create more waves with his sister. The lifeguard couldn’t help but pout at Ingrid’s comment, though he knew how swollen his eyes were, the itchiness and heaviness too intense to ignore. “Ice sounds good, but if I know Seb, he’s probably got distracted somewhere, so we should get our own. Shall we?” And it wasn’t just a reason to give himself more space from the cats either. When she mentioned the apartment, he tried to brighten up despite the state of his face. “Yeah? How’s that all going? The apartment stuff?”
☆ @ingridlczano
"How long have you been on the meds again? Here, take this—" Ingrid responded, reaching into her pocket to grab a small pack of tissues, which she handed to him. She always carried one, just in case, especially since her sister was always sneezing left and right at this time of the year. "Yeah, let's go before you can barely walk," the brunette agreed, nodding her head and wrapping her arm around his, just to make sure he could see where they were going. She took no chances of him getting hit by a goat while they walked past the petting zoo. "We're still looking, to be honest. It's not easy. Dean needs a space just for his gaming area, so that's a little bit tough to find. He's usually noisy, so he doesn't want the room to be close to mine, because I do need my sleep," she joked, smiling. "And there are only a few places within our budget, so..."

It only been a little less than a month since Remi had found out that the father she had been trying to reconnect with had even more secrets to his name. One of those secrets she was staring at, she wasn't trying to make it obvious, so every once and awhile she'd look elsewhere and try to seem a little more neutral. But her mind wouldn't stop racing over the information she had found out. She has another sister. Well, two sisters. She hadn't talked about this with anyone other than Ana, who was equally annoyed to find out that their dad was, as they always knew, trash. Deciding to go up to Ingrid as she stood by one of the tents, a kind smile pasted upon her features, "Hey," She greeted, "fancy seeing you here." They weren't friends, they hardly knew each other, but they've met in passing. She always seemed like a sweet girl, and now knowing there was more, Remi couldn't help but toe the water to see how much she knew. If she knew anything at all, and if she didn't, should she tell her? "Are you having fun?" Awkward small talk, nice. You're a professional actress, for pete sake. Put those skills to use, she thought. But she couldn't, not now. This wasn't a movie set.
With Ver taking over the food truck for the rest of the day, Ingrid saw it as a perfect opportunity to stroll around, explore the various vendors, and unwind with a drink before wrapping up the day. This spring felt different from previous ones. Here she was, making plans for her life, prioritizing herself for once, and embracing the uncertainty and changes ahead. Despite the challenges, she found the unpredictability of everything to be exhilarating.
With Freya heading off to college soon, Ingrid's long-awaited plan to move in with her best friend was finally becoming a reality. Going apartment hunting with Dean filled her with excitement, and despite being well into adulthood, she couldn't shake the feeling of being a giddy sixteen year old again. It was a refreshing change of pace from her usual routine, and the prospect of starting this new chapter of her life brought a sense of anticipation and joy.
With an iced tea in one hand, Ingrid greeted the familiar face with a half smile, noting that it had been ages since their last encounter. They weren't exactly friends, but they weren't enemies either, so Ingrid defaulted to being polite. "Hey," she said, her voice trailing off as she took a sip of her drink. "Yeah, my shift at the food truck just ended, so I thought I'd take a stroll, grab a drink... you know, see what the fuss is all about," she joked lightly. "And you?"
@remisolis
Thea hadn't necessarily known why Ingrid wanted to meet here, but she also wasn't going to deny the offer. She wanted to be on better terms with the woman for various reasons and was just glad that she was giving her chance to do that. "Yeah of course, no need to thank me." Feeling like there wasn't a need for formalities, unless there was some reason why she needed to meet here. Perhaps to give her bad news and that's why she wanted her to be enjoying wine. "Oh yeah, I brought it no worries. Plus I am pretty sure that they know me." It wasn't like she went to Grape Escape all that often, but she'd been a few times and gotten gifts for Elliot there before plus the alcohol industry was although quite large in variety in Providence Peak it was easy to stay tight knit. "This is the perfect way to bring in spring though, plus I do need a little break before the brunch at Holy Spirits this weekend." Thea admits as they moved slowly up in line, unsurprising that this was a popular booth since whenever she'd done these as a vendor it was always popping off.
@ingridlczano
Ingrid felt the need for some liquid courage as she contemplated the changes ahead in her life. With discussions with her sister and best friend behind her, she knew this year would be one of significant transformation. It wouldn't be easy, especially for someone accustomed to overworking, but she felt it was time to focus on herself after two decades of prioritizing her sister's future and needs. "Yeah, but you never know," she quipped, feeling a bit more relaxed after a glass of wine. "Right? I thought spring would never come this year. It felt like winter went on forever," she remarked, making a face at the memory of the long winter. "Do you want to grab a drink and sit over there? Or would you rather walk around first?"

"No, but like... bet you five bucks they'll win." Dean told Freya while the kayak race was going on. He wasn't the most athletic person out there, much less, he was competitive enough to find himself racing against other people for a chance to win personalized kayaks, but the weather was so fucking nice that day, that he would be dumb to have stayed at home during the spring festival. It didn't take long for Ingrid to join them, which prompted the streamer to throw his arm over his best friend's shoulders. "What do you think, Lozano? Freya's money is on red kayak. Mine is on the yellow." He smiled, motioning his head towards the lake. "By the way, your sister's already betting money. Professional gambler, I'd say!" He teased Freya, sticking his tongue at the younger woman, despite knowing fully well that he'd been the one who had started. "You having fun?"
Kayak racing was entertaining to watch, but Ingrid had no intention of getting near the water herself, especially with her sister involved. Since she wasn't working at the food truck that day, meeting up with Dean for some fun and relaxation sounded like the perfect plan. As she observed her sister and best friend betting on kayakers of different colors, Ingrid couldn't resist chiming in. "Mm, I dunno, I think the guy in blue looks confident enough. My bet's on him," she said with a laugh, rolling her eyes playfully. "No, she's not. She's supposed to be getting us drinks with that money," she said, gesturing towards the vendors a few meters away. "Yeah, I guess. This is nice. The weather is perfect, and the guy in the blue kayak is hot," she teased, keeping an eye on Freya to ensure she was safe. "And you? Don't lose too many bets. We've got to save up for the apartment."
@deanchaiyachet
Despite running behind on getting to the kayak race, Ty was slowly taking her time in getting to the sign-in area. It didn't look like they were going to start just yet, so she figured she had some leeway to stroll and scope out some of the competition. Giving a quick head nod towards Ingrid as a greeting, Ty came to a slow stop to chat for a moment. "Yeah, definitely getting out there. I love this shit. Are you competing?" Ty was out there every year, one of the few traditions that she actually found herself looking forward to most years. Anything that involved competing and winning was up her alley, especially something like this.
@ingridlczano
Ingrid watched as the woman, clearly an athlete, prepared for the upcoming race. It made perfect sense to her, someone so active and skilled wouldn't want to just sit on the sidelines. While the race looked exciting, the brunette knew she wouldn't be of much help, especially since she couldn't swim. "Nah, not really. I don't think I can do it, but I'll definitely cheer for you," she replied, her idea of cheering likely limited to polite clapping if Tyler came in first. She had no intention of getting too invested or making any bets.

Shit. CJ’s eyes were welling up considerably, and he had been keeping as far away from the cats as possible, but it still didn’t seem to help, sniffling and rubbing at them as they began to itch. “Ugh, it’s like my stupid injections aren’t even working,” He lamented to Ingrid, “I swear the doc is just putting like…sugar syrup in them. Like the playdoh effort or whatever.” She knew what he meant, hopefully. Ingrid got him like that. At that moment he realized his newly appointed spouse wasn’t with her, frowning as he glanced around as if he could spy his roommate in the crowd. “Uh, where’s Seb? I thought he was coming here…” But there was a chance he probably misheard him when leaving for the day. "Anyway, see anything you wanna adopt? That ginger cat over there looks cute in an ugly old man way!"
It took a great amount of self control to not go through all the kitties and puppies waiting to be adopted and ending up with only a couple a few of them. Considering she'd be leaving the trailer soon, Ingrid knew that the last thing both her and Dean needed was more than two cats in one small apartment. "You should seriously consider changing doctors." the brunette responded, making a face as she looked at CJ. "Maybe he's grabbing something for us to drink? I'm kinda feeling something cold, and you could definitely use some ice for your face." she muttered, judging him gently. "I think I'm good for now.. we have to figure out the whole apartment thing before adopting another pet. Two cats are already enough, and it kinda breaks my heart."

Ingrid glanced at the bustling tent set up for The Grape Escape, the vibrant colors of the banners catching her eye as she half-smiled. "Thanks for meeting me here," she said, turning her attention back to her companion. "I figured we could enjoy some wine while we talk. I hope you didn't forget your ID." The idea of free wine tastings intrigued her, especially considering the new spring flavor they were promoting. She could already imagine the delightful array of aromas and tastes awaiting them inside.. and the atmosphere felt lighter than the nightclub.

As Monday dawned and the city buzzed with the remnants of the weekend's festivities, Ingrid found herself drawn to the allure of the boat and kayak race at Summit Lake, hosted by Take It Outdoors. The prospect of spending a day under the sun, watching the participants navigate the waters, was enticing, even if she had no intention of participating herself. As she strolled towards the lake, Ingrid spotted a familiar face among the crowd and waved at her. "Hey.. Are you going to participate in the race or just watch?" she questioned, thinking that if anyone could pull it off.. that was Tyler.
