Lillith nodded in reply, staying silent. She didn’t understand why she got so shy around him, especially when most of the villagers wished she’d stop talking in general. Lillith couldn’t help but clamming up around him, yet always able to talk anyone’s ear off about him. Looking down, she noticed that Teddy was grocery shopping and that his basket looked quite empty for someone trying to live through the storm. She said in a shy voice, “Need any help?”
“Well it appears there isn’t any bread here even though you’ve got some in your basket.” He could tell the townspeople didn’t like him due to his purpose of being here but he didn’t think that they would deprive him of food during a dangerous time. “Think you could help me get food despite the clear dislike of me in the store?”
