I have been told by many people in various ways that I spend to much time in my head. My middle school best friend told me I live in a dream world and my first boyfriend was constantly telling me to stop overthinking, stop dreaming up scenarios. Additionally it is common knowledge that I am a compulsive liar. The fact is reality is mundane most of the time but it is also alterable. I can create completely fictitious parts of my life that are accepted as true simply because no one can say it didn’t happen, and if I tell the story enough that everyone believes it and eventually I believe it then who is to say that isn’t what actually happened and what does it matter if it didn’t?
Additionally spending time in my head and adjusting reality mean I live multiple times make multiple decisions and they have different consequence and I play it all out in my head, its like writing fan fiction for your life and you get to kind of live all of it! Just without and illusion that other people might exist (which we really have no idea about, who’s to say I am not in a coma right now making this all up? Or who’s to say the world exists at all? Maybe there is simply a mind out there somewhere that creates different stories to amuse itself.)
So, spending time in your head isn’t a bad thing, you live more, just differently.
