The alternating barbell trunk sit-up is an intermediate core strength exercise. This exercise requires a lot of upper body and core strength and should only be performed by intermediate to advanced fitness levels. The exercise is great for anyone looking to increase their oblique strength and sharpness. Also, try to not round your back as you do this. Sit-up nice and tall as you let you core bare the external resistant. You should reconsider if you have any lower back restriction. The execution : 0. Secure the base of an Olympic bar so it stays in place. 1. Sit-up on the floor while maintaining a 45 degree angle at the hip joints. 2. Grab the barbell on either hand as you slowly lower yourself to the floor. 3. Concentrically ( up position), maintain the 45 degree angle at all time with your elbow joint extended on the arm-side holding the bar. 4. Alternate hand position at the apex. Tip: adding additional weight to the bar is entirely up to you. Train accordingly. #victornkwo #therise #theartofit
