How might aliens feel about our martial arts?
The human body is not built for combat. Humans have no naturally occurring armor or weapons and are easily injured. Despite this, humans have found a way to weaponize their squishy little bodies so that they may fight without being weighed down by heavy weaponry. They utilize a form of fighting known as martial arts. There are a variety of different fighting styles categorized under martial arts including karate, taekwondo, judo, and capoeira. These types of fighting are correctly named as an art as they are very aesthetically pleasing. Humans, despite having a very rigid internal skeleton, are able to flex and manipulate their bodies in impressive ways. Their movements are fluid, smooth, and strike with deadly accuracy. Another way in which these combat styles can be viewed as an art form is that they are not just displays of brute force as is seen with many bigger, more violent species, but rather they are a perfect combination speed, strength, and strategy. It is enrapturing to observe humans fighting in this manner. As always, you are advised to do no more than observe a human well versed in any form of martial arts. Once a human has engaged in combat, they will not stop until they are victorious.
