A monster-made monster-hunting brigade

In the fog-drenched, twilight-eternal city of Melancholia, there exists a band of creatures who refuse to accept the fate the world has assigned them. They are monsters by birth—or by curse—but heroes by choice. To some, they are vigilantes. To others, abominations. But to themselves, they are a promise:

If humanity fears monsters, then monsters should be the ones to protect it.

They call themselves the Cryptwalkers.

Despised by their own kind, hunted by humans, and mistrusted by nearly everyone else, the Cryptwalkers walk the impossible tightrope between redemption and ruin. Their missions often end with more chaos than applause, and their methods—brutal, unorthodox, and questionable—only reinforce human suspicion that they’re no better than the creatures they fight.

Still, no force in Melancholia is more determined to keep its people safe.
