Today I learned that the Wels Catfish is a thing. It can weigh about 370 pounds, and is massive.

My immediate thought? In Doomwyte- which I consider my favorite Redwall book- there is a giant catfish in an underground lake.

This catfish is named Welzz.

A quick trip to the Redwall Wiki confirms that Welzz is a Wels Catfish.

Brian Jacques was very clever with stuff like this. Take Gulo the Savage from Rakkety Tam. Gulo was a wolverine.

I live in Michigan, our state animal- last I checked- is the wolverine.

A museum nearby has a stuffed wolverine, with the scientific name underneath. That name?

Actually, no I haven’t! Let’s see what I can come up with for Rose. 

Headcanon A: Realistic 

Between Rose and Brome, Rose is “the good one”. She doesn’t get into trouble, not really--or, to put it more accurately, she doesn’t get caught. Brome goes off wandering and practically picks fights with their father. Rose deliberately tries to fly under the radar, waiting for the best time to actually rebel. So when Brome went missing for longer than normal, their mom asked Rose to try and find him. 

Headcanon B: Unrealistic, but funny

Brome and Rose have put on elaborate and badly done plays when they were kids, that their parents watched with amusement.  

Headcanon C: Painful but fun to inflict on others

Rose died instantly upon colliding with the wall. She didn’t know if she’d saved Grumm; she didn’t know if Martin, Brome, Pallum, were all still alive; she didn’t know Martin fought Badrang instants later; she didn’t know Martin reclaimed his sword; she didn’t even know what happened. All she knew was that one moment she was in the midst of battle in a fortress she hated, and the next, everything had gone silent, and she was standing on a path in a forest she had never seen before. 

Headcanon D: Unrealistic but fuck canon I do what I want
