A tale of love and distance.
Imagine a warm summers day, in an age not long past a place where worlds meet. Where myth and legend become reality, From whence life turns into something else. Imagine the soft heat of a cave in the mountains passing below a magma vein, The sweetness of the flowers outside. This is where this tale begins.
Their two worlds met four years past, The man from a world like our own, nothing special to be had, He was just a mere mortal, average in all respects. He had no real talents, besides that of genuine overwhelming kindness. and a genuine warmth.
Her, Well she was a different story, no she was no god or demigod, no she was a guardian of hell a shapeshifter, she took many forms she had some she would not wish to show. as parts of herself were expressed in those forms. As a guardian of underworld, well she wasn’t really allowed such pleasantries especially in her line of work.
They met on a new moon, where the worlds joined for a few moments, if in some cases a minute or so. He Walked to and from a hill for both exercise and fresh air. It was on one of those very nights he saw her. A wispy almost ethereal figure, In both armour and teal flame flickering ever so lightly off her armour even though she was incomporeal. She looked as tough she was both a spirit and a warrior. Yet he had no knowledge that this was even real. He thought of this as just a dream, Soft footfalls followed as his breath started to quicken. he looked over to hear, it looked as if she was watching the valley in front of him, somewhat standing guard.
“H..hello, excuse me, are you okay?” His voice was kind and curious, his stutter unhelpful due to his both curiosity and nervousness. He stayed a meter or two away from her as a privacy thing.
From her view, it was always Dawn, as the mention of the gate she was guarding She saw the young man seem to appear from nowhere to her right, to her he was somewhat corporeal looking, his warm blue eyes giving away his personality just a little. She had a slight look of confusion, she had not seen anyone dressed as he was, yet she heard his words his curiosity and concern looked at him once more and slowly nodded.
“Hello, yes I am fine spirit thank you for asking, are you lost or is there something you need?.” she said her voice stoic and professional, not really cold but more slightly chilly, as a police officer keeping on watch would be to such a question. He was taken a back slightly at what she said he looked at her once more thinking about his words. “I am not dead, I mean I think I may be dreaming to see someone such as you. But may I ask what are you doing up on this hill below a old oak tree?” His voice still curious a little uneasy still but curious.
Her attention turned to him once more, her ethereal look flickering ever so gently. she looked slightly confused, well I mean that’s the reaction he would see but her whole form is ghost like and wispy so it’s hard to make out. “I am not below a tree…” she pauses a little as if trying to think of something, “I am standing guard to the gate of dawn on Elysium. Surely you must know this strange one?." She said the coldness of her voice, giving way to slight curiosity as she spoke up once more. "Who are you, and where do you think you are?” ……(I shall end it here for now and write up the next part later. may I hear your thoughts.)
