I was listening to some music and I,, I realized something.
The Abyss, from its instant, was anger and rage and hate. It hated and hated. It wanted everything dead for forgetting it.
Yet its children, the Code Deities, are anything but. Database loves and loves and cries whenever their creations are hurt. Duck/Clearall actively stepped in and helped during an arc, he has friends, he gets along with others. Abyssal has friends, family, and a lover. Effi, even if they haven't met anyone in canon has the mirror sprites and they do care for keeping the timeline stable, but they also care and sympathize with all the beings. Archive, who moonlights as freaking SANTA CLAUS, for goodness' sake!
The Abyss hates and hates and hates. But its children love and care and cherish.
Meanwhile, the Void, from its conception, loved. It love and cared and cradled. Its hair is the very sky that its Programs look up to.
Meanwhile, its children just.. don't care. Lady Os, Sir Expunge, and Sir Tempo never really cared. They did their duties out of obligation, not of care or cherishment. To them, everyone was below them. And so, of course, they got bored and they left. Caring for all these Programs was boring and so they didn't want to care for them. Even the Voidlings, as sweet as they are, do what they were asked to out of obligation and curiosity.
This wasn't even like.. intentional. But its interesting to me that it just happened.
The Abyss' children love and care.
The Void's children dismiss and do what they do out of obligation.
The Code Deities for SMG4 all (probably, anyway) dislike or even downright loathe being the children of the Abyss because of all the harm its caused.
The Code Deities of Alyssa's computer (the Void resides there, just in case anyone needed a reminder) are more than willing to abuse their place as children of the Void because it gives them power and respect.
Just something I started thinking about.
