Well, it took a long time but the kitchen is finally finished! The original kitchen in our Cortez had nearly twice as much counter space and also had a three-burner range/oven. While it was a pleasant cooking area it was much larger than we needed and because of how much space it took up it prevented us from installing a larger bed. After deciding that we wanted to make significant changes we began demolition. After removing the range/oven, we decided it was as good a time as any to also replace the counter. We removed it, and because we discovered some water damage in the cabinetry we decided to uncover a little bit more. Eventually we uncovered the fresh water tank which had a lovely green sludge filling it’s bottom 1/3 - so that had to get replaced too. When we removed the water tank we found a mummified mouse carcass (its in our feed if you care to see it 💀). Here we are more then a month later - we replaced the fresh water tank with a new one, reconnected all of the plumbing, built completely custom cabinets including custom drawers and doors, installed a new counter top and added a water filter to help make sure any water we drink is clean. A lot of the steps to re-doing our RV have taken longer then we anticipated and it’s often a one step forward two steps back kind of rhythm. But when we step back and look at how far we’ve come it’s a really good feeling and it keeps us motivated to move forward and get this project finished! (at OK Ranch)
