Was there any confusion over Sandygast and Pallosandās shiny form? I mean, I heard a trainer thought one they caught on Route Fourteenās black sand beach was one. They didnāt know all shinies produce the special sparkling effect when they come out of their Pokeballs. How do people treat those with Shiny Pokemon in the main regions? They are a fun interest here in Alola though we stick to mainly catching rather than breeding a shiny. Helps some of the more noticeable ones live a good life.
I'm not an Alola native, but I have looked into these guys and I think it's so funny how their shiny form is based on a color of sand found just an island away.
So the main difference between the shiny and non-shiny is how the sand is adapted into its castle.
A normal Sandygast will cover itself with the sand of the surrounding area to blend in, but it's really just a covering, once they leave the site of different sand, it will release all of the sand not part of its body. It's like camouflage.
A shiny variation will have its black coloring and will actually cover itself with normal sand more often so it doesn't stick out.
if you're looking for a shiny, take a close look at the eyes and rocks that decorate the castle pokemon, a shiny's will be a bright blue.
It's one of the rare pokemon that will hide its natural shiny colors to keep a tactical advantage.
