“Madam!”

The newest letter reached her the moment she had returned to her crew via portal from Dalaran. The specific crew member to hand it to her wasn’t her second in command, but that wasn’t a question to ask for the moment. Walking down the boards to her almost empty Stormwind office, Lynx broke the string tying the scroll and unraveled it quickly.

“Madam Faye L'cri,

Recently our shop has received fewer customers for our masculine companions, as you are well aware of from your last review of the books earlier this month, and we took a considerable amount of time to delve into the possible reasons. We can connect it to a couple men, though one in particular stands out - Dicenne. Previously you had mentioned to watch him because he could pose a threat based on previous businesses of your mentors. Dicenne has returned to the escort business, as have a few other Sin’dorei men, and has taken quite a few of our customers. At the moment the staff are attempting to come up with a good event to bring in some new customers.

“Shit. Shit shit shit shit,” she muttered, growing louder as her pace quickened. “I’ve got loads of work to do for a new contract and this crap has to go down!” The Captain threw the scroll, knocking over a quill and a few other scrolls from her desk in the otherwise bare room. Her feet brought her to the fireplace where she scowled and glared at the black ash inside. None of her crew had entered.

After some time the Quartermaster entered. Lynx stood in the same spot, calmly breathing with eyes closed. “My lady, I must insist you eat. Come, there is a spot nearby I want–” Lynx silences the Kaldorei with a simple raise of the hand, opening her eyes. She clasps both hand behind her back and turns to face her tall counterpart.

“We’re going to the chest. There are important happenings which we must deal with before I can question you on your report and update you on our part of the eight.” And like that she walked out, he a couple steps behind her, to find the fastest portal down to Booty Bay.

Today I’d really enjoy starting up some RP as my little Alliance baby, Captain Lynx Dilancri. The hard part is picking which realm to play on. She’s native to Shadow Council as lynxfaye - I even have the guild The Mistrunner created in 2010 with a small story behind it and a lot of time invested in it’s bank. But I also created her on Wyrmrest Accord as dilancri - she currently has a guild charter for Mistrunner Merchandise ((name still in the works)) with no signitures.

“You better read this, Captain!”

Sunshine and seagulls. The small harbor was relaxing, even for a swamp. Early afternoon was busy as The Mistrunner had weighed anchor off shore of Bogpaddle to resupply the dwindling swamp brew in their stores. Lynx Dilancri, Captain of The Mistrunner, had been supervising the movement of barrels when her First Officer hurried to her side with a scroll in hand. He extended the parchment to her, the wax seal of the Alliance facing upwards so it’s unbroken image could be clearly seen.

Lynx held her breath as her gloved hand grabbed the letter and her other pulled a knife from her belt to break it open. The last time she received a notice like this she had her ship commandeered  for an expedition to Pandaria. She was lucky to even have The Mistrunner returned to her afloat.

“Captain, are you alright?” Her second-in-command asked, concern flowing across his dark face. With every moment Lynx spent rereading the letter the man became more anxious. “Are they taking the ship again?”

“No. No they are not,” the captain said with a stern voice. For someone so young she had a strong demeanor. “These will be the last barrels we take on. We’ll return the rest we’ve not yet moved.”

“But the Goblins, my Captain! They will--”

“Bargain for half the worth if you have to, Officer, and get the crew on that ship immediately. We set sail in two hours,” she flared, hands on her hips, as she looked up. Being five foot tall wouldn’t stop her from requiring respect and order.

“Yes, Captain! At once!”

He bowed and ran off and Lynx’s eyed returned to the parchment. “Stormwind is going to be busy. But we’ll be ready.”
