On the Howie Mandel podcast Rhett said that Jessie’s favorite person other than him was Christy. Link casually referred to them all as a foursome. Like idk. It’s too much to think about them all choosing each other over and over again and again. And just always loving each other no matter what. Okay. Okay. Bye. ❤️

Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees, anon. You can exist in a way that intrinsically contradicts many stereotypical relationship norms so early on in the cultural conversation and timeline (not to mention originating in religious rural south) that you don't really understand you have more in common with those types of relationships than not. One of the most challenging aspects of those or any relationships is balancing time, money, romance, cohabitation, and power. Those are all the parts they have locked down. That's what's so funny to me.

Polycules don't have to involve sex to be polycules. But honestly, regardless of that, it's like you said: so very lovely that they have such a uniquely cohesive setup where they're all business partners and best friends and spouses, all rolled into one chaotic mess. They've all saved each others lives. They can't exist as they are without one another. Jessie getting them all to therapy. Christy catching Rhett when he passed out. Rhett pulling Link from the river. Link keeping them all humble. They all protect each other. And Link. They all have matching rings. Their dogs and offspring read as siblings. Christy and Rhett have favorite funky cheeses. Jessie and Link don't like the way your cousin's living room is laid out. Everybody has a chronic illness or injury and they're all probably neurodivergent. It's the best. Whether they want it or not, they are like when you watch shows from the 1970s and they're way before their time. Too relatable, too open, too authentic. They think that's all standard practice and it just isn't. They've established a baseline that many people would aspire to and don't realize that part. But you can't force people to see themselves the way you might.
