BORN THE FINAL PRINCESS of four other siblings, varina is the beloved baby of the royal family of atlantis. her parents are the king and queen, and have been for a long time. rina is unlikely to ever rule herself, given that she's the youngest, but she still enjoys a princess status. life had been going well for their kind for most of their life, getting even easier when humans invented sea travel the last few centuries. however, as ships became more advanced, it became more difficult to lure humans to sea. sirens have begun to have to go to their prey rather than the opposite, resulting in more mermaid sightings and "shark attacks". many sirens, including herself, have taken to spending more time on land for easier access to food. rina usually spends one year on land, versus two years at sea. rina is rather elegant and wise, though she's capable of great brutality thanks to their siren nature. she enjoys going clubbing and indulging in other human activities that have appeared in the last century - the average human lifestyle so different from her life under the sea.
