In the middle of reading this weird ass horror book and I have never shipped an old lady with an bloody mass of eldritch sea goop so hard before

You guys should read the haar. It's about an old woman on a small Scottish villiage that's slowly being taken over by the construction of a resort who finds a blob in the mist and it helps her with the increasingly predatory and violent take over of her home. It's a romantic body horror with a 'the thing' type creature.

Shout out to Muriel - if my husband was lost at sea and came back as an Eldritch blob, I too would feed him the blood of my enemies without a second thought.

“the haar” was worth being on the waitlist for my library for two months. extremely fun gross eldritch monster moments. it was like if “the shape of water” was about the thing from “the thing.” you could definitely hear the stephen king influences though. 8/10

Honestly, I support old woman getting off to sea creature and going on murder rampage and ending up becoming a part of the sea creature so she can see and understand the ocean
