The Futureheads were one of those early 2000s bands that struck a chord with me because of their tight, angular post-punk sung with a sharp accent. My reaction to hearing "In The City" by The Jam come to mind when thinking of how I felt when I first heard The Futureheads. The Futureheads never got their own post, but have been mentioned many times in posts about other releases: Deleter, Omni, Cathedrale, Do Nothing, Nosferatu D2, and most recently The Bishops were compared with The Futureheads over the past several years.
"This Is Not The World" is the band's 3rd album following their near perfect S/T and the nearly-as-good "News and Tributes." Cherry Red Records has a double LP, "Decent Days and Nights: The Singles" available.
