this argument is bullshit, sorry.
i don’t doubt everyone was aware and accepting of death as a probable outcome of choosing to fight for griffith’s cause. they’re mercenaries, i imagine it comes with the job. that said, “fighting for someone knowing i may die,” and, “sacrificing myself for someone knowing i will die,” aren’t the same thing.Â
and even if they were, it would’ve concerned dying in a battle between mortal men. being torn to shreds during a humiliatingly one-sided bloodbath shepherded by demons is not even remotely comparable. Â
tl;dr: soldier death is a consequence of war; demonic sacrifice is not.
