Zee didn't mean anything by it, but he overthinks her,,, compliments. He'd kind of recently just gotten off drugs here and he's, just, kind of struggling to figure himself out sober. The fact that the spontaneous hacking off of the hair makes him look Better and Good and Clean makes him feel things. Guilt for not being Good before. Fear that the looking Better thing is just a cheap coverup to fool people into thinking he's alright. Is he alright? He isn't sure yet. He doesn't look the same, doesn't feel the same and he doesn't know if that's alright yet. He’s working on it.
Anyway, obviously he's younger here, he'll get better and less worried about things, including the haircut, over time. It just takes him a little while. This is before he gets Delilah. She’s Zahra’s droid for now, and she's still working just fine, but I figured she deserved a little cameo back there.

A boy and his robot. 🤖 January first was the first time I drew Delilah, and January second was the first time I drew Andre, so I decided to draw both these birthday kids together this year. Precious. :,)
Okay herre we are, the second sketchpage for the cowboy au! I wasn’t too sure what to do for some of the robot designs so I kinda put it off to work on the big drawing, but there’s plenty of sketchers here now! Some designs might change a bit, but who knows! Full view bc there’s a lot of lil details.
As I mentioned, Andre’s a sort of eccentric occasionally failed inventor, designing robots and all sorts of things. He’s most successful with little designs, like the baby chick or the little,, tin can with legs lookin thing. It’s main purpose is basically just to skitter around on it’s spidery legs and look cute. The bigger full body robot is definitely a bigger project that he’ll work on for A While, and is essentially a simpler version of Delilah that he built himself! I definitely imagine this setting to have SOme technologies that wouldn’t exist yet,, but of course it’s not much compared to their actual futuristic setting. Andre has also made two prosthetics for Evelyn, one lightweight for everyday use, and a more heavy duty one for her job, which I was thinking would be a miner for the town! And of course if you saw my last drawing, this is a baby AU, so Leia’s here too! :,)c
I drew a tiny little sketch of Andre’s sister, Zahra, too. I’d like to draw something bigger for her soon, it’s really been a while! I haven’t officially decided, but someone in Andre’s family is the town’s mayor. It might not end up being Zahra, but I think she’d still have a pretty important role in the town, anyway. (also Nate’s here again because I forgot I had two versions of that sketch..)
