comic shops in America can absolutely be a nightmare world where it’s just DC and Marvel, or at least, 95% DC and Marvel, good luck trying to find the indie titles (collected trades are usually around and have a wider selection of publishers, but if I’m looking for trades, I usually just go to a barnes and nobles instead)
(there are exactly two comic shops in my area I like to go to because they’re friendly and easy to navigate and have a good balance of books, I’m just incredibly overwhelmed by how lost I am after not regularly going to one for three years :p)
